THE INFIRMARY STREET BATHS, EDINBURGH /2017
The brief was to get to know the area and generate a concept proposal for the Infirmary Street Baths building which would be unique, forward-thinking, and responsive to the needs of the current job market in Edinburgh.
The core element of my proposal was to create an affordable, democratic, and inspiring space for creative freelancers and businesses that would allow them to connect, collabo-rate and share ideas.
Designers vs. Scientists is a creative hub designed with artists, designers, scientists, and small businesses in mind. From individual offices, meeting rooms, to workshop facilities, exhibition halls and a library, a wide range of spaces will be available both to professionalsand the public. This will help nurture and grow the local community.
Finding the right quality materials and creating stimulating interiors that expressed the unique and interdisciplinary character of the hub were crucial for the project’s success. I won the Student of the Year award for this project at Edinburgh College in 2017.
