Short documentary film about community art project – City of Homes – Polish Community in Scotland
Documentary film about “City of Homes” community art project.

‘City of Homes’ – an audio-visual artwork – an outcome of art27scotland residency by Marta Adamowicz and Robert Motyka was presented to a full house on the night of 2 July 2022 in Southside Community Centre, Edinburgh.

In this project, artists set out to work with the Polish community in Edinburgh to invoke a discussion and collect accounts of the immigrant experience.

Together they have organised a series of art workshops and meet ups around the concept of ‘home’ and its connection to architecture. They have edited recorded discussions, and images made by participants into a spectacular experience where sound and animation presented in Southside Community Centre tell very personal stories of migration and belonging.

Marta Adamowicz is a Polish visual and sound artist and illustrator. In her practice, she deals mainly with social issues. Her work has been presented at many prestigious exhibtions and festivals.
